Deep storage pallet racks

Deep storage pallet racks

Deep pallet racks are designed for storing large volumes of the same type of goods with a low turnover ratio, when fast loading / unloading and direct access to any pallet are not decisive factors. Drive-in racks are characterized by storage space savings, space utilization ratio reaches 80%. Drive-in racks are mainly used for storage of goods with a long shelf life, such as in the food or pharmaceutical industries. This type is also used to store products that are characterized by seasonal demand to create buffer stocks. Deep racks provide safe block storage of fragile products or products that are not suitable for stacking one on top of the other. Entry racks are characterized by high compactness of storage due to the removal of aisles between rows, and trucks drive deep into the rack system. The main elements of the drive-in shelving are vertical frames and a horizontal load-bearing element or slats. The frames are fastened together with ties for greater structural strength.

According to the principle of cargo handling, there are two types of entry racks: Drive-in - handling according to the "LIFO" principle (last in, first out) when pallets are loaded and unloaded from one end of the rack. Drive Thru - goods are handled according to the "FIFO" (first in, first out) principle, pallets are loaded onto the entry racks from one side and unloaded from the opposite side.

In the first case, the pallet that was installed first will be shipped last. This method is suitable for storing the same type of product with a long shelf life. In the second case, the pallet located first will be the first and shipped, which is important when working with high turnover products. This increases the speed of cargo handling, but reduces the utilization rate of the storage capacity.

Pushback racks are type of racking equipment for warehouse cargo handling (storage, picking). The principle of operation of this type of racking equipment is based on the use of gravity (gravity) when placing a load on a rack shelf that has a slope relative to the horizon. Under the influence of gravity (own weight), the cargo moves from the place of installation to the place of unloading. As a rule, gravity racks have a block structure: the goods line up one after another along the depth of the shelf inside one channel of the gravity rack, which has several levels of storage one above the other.

Advantages of pushback racks:

  1. High storage density of goods due to the block structure. Storage volume in equal rooms using gravity racks can be increased by up to 60%
  2. Separation of the area of loading and unloading racks. Warehouse personnel and/or lifting equipment in these areas do not interfere with each other and can work in parallel.
  3. Storage in gravity racks is based on the FIFO principle (first in, first out). This principle is automatic.
  4. The movement of cargo inside the channel of the gravity rack is carried out automatically under the action of gravity and does not require the use of lifting equipment or energy costs. In general, fewer pieces of lifting equipment are required compared to traditional types of shelving equipment (front racks).

Warehouse racks with SHUTTLE system

Do you need to ensure the maximum use of space and warehouse space, while at the same time high-speed cargo handling? Then you should take a close look at Pallet Shuttle racking systems. To make the best use of available warehouse space, we offer a combination of Pallet Shuttle High Density Shelving System and automated shuttles.

Pallet Shuttle high-density shelving system allows loading and unloading goods carriers in semi-automatic mode. The movement of pallets in the channel and storage is carried out using a shuttle. The system allows you to perform simultaneous work with the load in several channels.

Do not forget: time and storage space are highly valuable. You can optimize the use of available space with the Pallet Shuttle system, even if you need to store a large variety of goods.

Cargo handling is carried out with the help of a loader and a shuttle. The principle of operation is as simple as it is effective. The loader places the load at the entrance to the canal. Then the cargo is automatically lifted by the shuttle and moved to the end of the channel or to the next available storage location. After carefully placing the pallet on the supporting profiles, the shuttle returns to the beginning of the channel to pick up the next pallet, while automatically recognizing where the rack ends.

The use of a shuttle can significantly reduce the time of work and increase safety in the warehouse: the forklift does not need to enter the rack, while the movement of goods is carried out very gently compared to stacking. The offered pallet shuttles are already equipped as standard with a mobile pedestrian protection system.
